Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic (TOC) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to join our dynamic, growing group. TOC is an established team, known for providing state of the art care for the communities we serve. We are strategically positioning ourselves for the future and are looking for a CEO which will mirror that focus. Our vision is to enhance the services to our patients as the regional leader in musculoskeletal care.

TOC provides comprehensive orthopedic and pain management services with 27 physicians and 45+ physician extenders from North Florida to South Georgia. The CEO will ensure continued success of TOC through quality enhancement, cost containment, strategic growth, and continued development of relationships with staff, board members, hospital and community leaders, national organizations, and payers.

TOC has been in business for almost 50 years and has subspecialties in foot and ankle, spine, hand, adult reconstruction, pediatrics, pain management, and sports medicine.  The practice is located strategically throughout the region with 4 satellite offices and two Tallahassee campuses.  Ancillary endeavors include on site X-ray, MRI, Physical Therapy, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Urgent Care Center, and Orthotics and Prosthetics.  TOC fields team physicians for Florida State University (FSU), Florida A&M University (FAMU), and Tallahassee Community College (TCC), as well as numerous area high schools.  TOC believes the success and future of the organization depends on the dedication and abilities of all our physicians and staff in every facet of patient care.

Duties of CEO include: being ultimately responsible for all practice activities, including operations, physician billing/collections, financial performance/practice metrics, personnel management, development and monitoring of systems for patient registration, maintenance of medical records, practice information technology/electronic medical records, development of policies and procedures and strategic oversight of new practice development; ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and rules of accrediting bodies; representing the organization in its relationships with other healthcare organizations, government agencies, providers and third-party payers and to the general public and the communities it serves; serving as a liaison and channel of communication between the Board and its committees and the medical and administrative staff; inspiring and leading the management team.

Position requires: thorough knowledge and understanding of the healthcare environment; comfort with data driven decision making and outcome measures; mastery of contract negotiation;  experience with financial plans, marketing, human resource management, strategic planning and public relations in healthcare; identification of trends and opportunities for improvement; demonstration of strong analytical and problem solving skills; initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making; excellent and effective communication and motivational skills; strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and develop realistic action plans; the ability to demonstrate behavior consistent with the organization’s strategic plan, core values and mission developed by the Board of Directors; the ability to work under stressful situations and manage asymmetric working hours.

Must have graduate degree in Healthcare or Business Administration or other advanced degree.  At least 5 years of executive-level experience in a medical system with at least 20 providers.
